Import Vehicle Inventory

Data Requirements
VIN (required)
- VIN is the primary identifier Vinpoint uses for search and pairing
- VIN must be 17-character alphanumeric, and checksum
Asset Type
- Set Asset Type as "Vehicle" to quickly define all assets in the upload at once
- If you select “Asset Type column included in uploaded file” you must define Asset Type as "Vehicle" in your file. This feature is for imports that include multiple asset types
Stock (optional)
- If you do not provide a stock during the import process, Vinpoint will automatically assign the last 8 digits of the VIN as the stock number
- Must be at least 5 characters to be searchable
- No more than 20 characters
- Cannot be a 17-character VIN
Color (optional)
- Manufacturer Color (e.g., Magnetic Gray Metallic)
Tip: When uploading a file, download the import template to get started faster
Review & Validate
Confirm all vehicle data appears in correct columns
Once finished you’ll see a success message or a notice that your vehicles are processing. Once complete, you’ll receive an email confirmation with the import results
Now you’re ready to pair your imported vehicles

Be sure to scan or enter the VIN exactly as it was imported or Vinpoint will not find the vehicle
Asset Type should automatically set to "Vehicle," and the imported vehicle details should be displayed
Review the vehicle details and add any missing information if needed
